Welcome to the
CIDER Score Calculator
What is the CIDER score?
The mild Cognitive Impairment to DEmentia Risk score (CIDER) estimates the probability that a patient diagnosed clinically with mild cognitive impairment will progress to dementia within the next 3 years.
CIDER was derived in patients participating in the National Alzheimer’s Coordinating Center (NACC) study. It was validated in a memory clinic in Calgary (Alberta, Canada) and in participants in the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative.
Caution should be exercised when applying the estimates to patients in substantially different clinical and geographic settings. The derivation and validation of CIDER has been published in Alzheimers & Dementia: Translational Research & Clinical Interventions (2022, Volume 8, Issue 1).
Who can use our calculator?
This risk calculator is intended for use by clinicians.
It is only applicable to patients with a medical diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment (e.g., by NIA-Alzheimer’s Association criteria) and is not applicable to the general population.
